Dr. Paul Jackson is Group Leader of the Environmental Molecular Biology Group, Life Sciences Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory (operated for the U.S. Department of Energy by the University of California). Dr. Jackson holds a number of patents, most concerning methods of removing metal ions from aqueous solutions. Between 1990 and 1994, he received five Los Alamos National Laboratory Inventor Awards and won the Distinguished Patent of the Year Award in 1990.
Dr. Jackson serves as the Los Alamos National Laboratory Representative on the University of California Strategic Targets for Alliances in Research Program Executive Committee and as Adjunct Professor not only in ECH, but in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, University of New Mexico; the Department of Biological Sciences, Northern Arizona University; and in the Department of Agronomy and Soil Science, New Mexico State University. He is also the Los Alamos National Laboratory Representative for the Steering Committee of the Southwest Consortium for Plant Genetics and Water Resources.
