Dr. Baghian joined the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and was appointed as an instructor in 1991 with teaching involvement in biotechnology and virology.
Research Interests
His research interests are molecular biological and immunological aspects of chlamydial infections in animals, herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) glycoproteins which are involved in fusion activities of HSV-1 infected cells, and the human herpes virus-8 or Kaposi's sarcoma- associated virus which is a newly emerging virus. He is a co-principal investigator for grants funded through the Louisiana Education Quality Support Fund.
