Kathleen S. Harrington 

Kathleen Harrington joined the Department in 1980 as a Veterinary Laboratory Specialist. Her duties have evolved through the years from work in clinical bacteriology to computer-based instruction and public health informatics.  Promoted to Instructor in 1999, Ms. Harrington currently assists other departmental faculty with the production of multimedia presentations for use in classrooms and at conferences.  She is involved in the teaching of VMED 5251, “Regulatory Medicine and Public Health,” a course in the second-year Professional Curriculum, and gives occasional lectures to various graduate classes on topics such as questionnaire writing and use of presentation graphics software.  Ms. Harrington has coauthored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers.

Ms. Harrington created and maintains the websites for the WHO Collaborating Center for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems for Public Health [see Dr. Hugh-Jones’s page for details on the latter], and the School of Veterinary Medicine.
