Biographic Sketch

Dr. Hedlund is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons; she is currently serving as a member of the Board of Regents for this specialty college. She is a founding member of the Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery where she currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer and organizer of their annual scientific meeting. She is also a founding member and past officer of the International Ear, Nose and Throat Association. She has served on the editorial review boards for several veterinary journals. Dr. Hedlund served as Chief, Companion Animal Surgery for 17 years. Her area of clinical interest is soft tissue surgery with special expertise in respiratory, gastrointestinal, urogenital, oncologic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hedlund’s clinical research interests focus on respiratory tract surgery and wound management. She has spoken extensively at regional, national and international veterinary meetings on topics related to respiratory surgery and wound management. She has edited and coauthored three books.
