Postdoctoral Researcher Positions
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER - The postdoctoral researcher conducts research development for sample preparation for analyses of drugs. Operates LC/MS and other advanced MS instruments; develops new processes for reducing data so obtained; conducts method development for drugs in equine blood and urine samples. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Analytical Chemistry, Toxicology or a related field; must be able to develop laboratory protocols involving operation of advanced LC/MS instruments, data review and interpretation and performance under a quality assurance paradigm. Desired Qualifications: Previous drug testing laboratory and/or instrument operation experience. Expertise in laboratory information management systems. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER - A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available immediately in the lab of Dr. Yoshimura in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences to conduct projects funded by an NIH grant. The interest of the lab is the regulation of cyclic AMP signaling with particular attention to mammalian membrane-bound adenylyl cyclase. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in biological, biomedical or related field; familiarity with live cell imaging using fluorescence microscope. Additional Qualifications Desired: Experience in FRET, good communication and organizational skills; good English writing and speaking skills. Special Requirements: Must be eligible to work in the United States. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Research Associate Positions
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE 1-3 (3 positions) -
The Research Associate 1, 2, or 3 conducts immunoassay analyses, blood or urine sample extraction, method set-up, and method development. Required Qualifications: (All levels) Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Laboratory Technology, or a related field; must be able to conduct laboratory protocols involving pipetting, preparation of solutions and extractions and documentation of performance under a quality assurance paradigm. RA 2-3 requires one year experience. Desired Qualifications: 2-year Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or 4-year Medical Technological (BS). Previous drug testing laboratory work experience. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE 4 - Individual with sophisticated electron microscopy skills and a biological background needed to work in a Microscopy Center on various research projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in the life sciences and three years experience including microscopy technologist experience with TEM and SEM; and experience in routine tissue preparation, thin sectioning, instrument operation and routine maintenance. Desired Qualifications: Experience in freeze-fracture, immunogold labeling, fluorescence microscopy, digital imaging and laboratory management. PhD student positions are immediately available to study DNA repair mechanisms in yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and possibly mammalian cells. Highly self-motivated individuals with experience in the field of yeast genetics, protein biochemistry or molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Minimum criteria for admission include >3.0 GPA out of 4.0 on the US system scale, a combined verbal and quantitative GRE score of >1100, and, for international students, a TOEFL exam score (computer version) of >213 (or >79 internet version or >550 paper version).
