LSU School of Veterinary Medicine September 25, 2002
The Tau Chapter of the Society of Phi Zeta at LSU sponsored Research Emphasis Day in the School of Veterinary Medicine on Wednesday, September 25, 2002. The objectives of the event were to promote and encourage scholarly activities in the School of Veterinary Medicine and to showcase research activities of professional and graduate students and faculty within the School. All faculty, staff, advanced studies students and professional students were encouraged to submit abstracts and present posters during the event. However, only the advanced studies and professional students were included in the judging. A panel of judges from outside of the School will be assembled to judge the posters and presenters using a standardized evaluation form. Substantial monetary prizes were awarded to the 1st ($300), 2nd ($200) and 3rd ($100) place winners of the best posters in the following two categories: (1) Dissertation (PhD) students and (2) Thesis (MS) and non-degree (professional students, non-degree house officers) students. Faculty and staff were not judged but were encouraged to make presentations to highlight the research efforts throughout the School.
