Education:
MD School of Medicine in Jiangxi Medical College, P. R. China • MS Bacteriology, Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, P. R. China • PhD Virology, Zhongshan School of Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University, China

From Sept. of 2004, Dr Wei worked as a Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Center for Primate Biomedical Research at University of Illinois, in there he studied the molecular mechanism of Vγ2Vδ2 T cells recognize phosphoantigens, pathogenesis and immunology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. TB) in macaque models.

Research Interests:
Dr. Wei’s primary research interest is in the study of envelope glycoprotein gN regulation of BHV-1 pathogenicity and immunogenicity. Ongoing research in his lab is focused on identification of the BHV-1 gN domain(s) necessary for TAP and glycoprotein gM binding through virus mutagenesis technology. Dr. Wei is also interested in development of attenuated herpesvirus vaccines.
