Leading Oklahoma Feline Hospital Seeks Associate Veterinarian

The Cat Clinic of Norman is a progressive, full-service veterinary hospital in a university town. Our goal is exceptional rather than just adequate health for our patients. This begins with a thorough physical exam and continues with taking the time to educate our clients (we schedule 30+ minutes for general appointments). We try to treat clients' cats like our own. We offer in-house diagnostics (including two Vetscan chemistry analyzers, iStat, research-grade microscope, digital refractometer, and Doppler BP); new GE Logiq Book ultrasound; portable X-ray with automatic processor; ECG, pulse ox, and NiBP surgical monitoring; heated surgery table and recovery kennels; top-of-the-line dental equipment; and a spacious (2,300 sq. ft; built in 2001), spotless, bark-free facility designed just for cats.

For new/recent grads: Dr. Miller is committed to mentorship, and you would have the opportunity to work closely with her to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a superb feline practitioner. Dr. Miller is highly regarded both locally and nationally and is currently serving her second term on the board of directors of the AAFP.

Salary is negotiable. Benefits include production-based pay (with guaranteed base); paid CE; professional licenses; AVMA, AAFP, & VIN memberships; generous personal leave; relocation assistance; and an efficient, close-knit support staff. New grads and established veterinarians interested in specializing in feline medicine are encouraged to apply.

Norman, Oklahoma, was named the sixth best small city to live in by CNN/Money in 2008. Norman boasts a vibrant economy, a low cost of living, and the state's top school system. Norman is home to the University of Oklahoma and a proud heritage of college sports; a wide variety of restaurants, including many ethnic restaurants; world-class museums; film, music, and cultural festivals; plenty of shopping; and numerous parks, including Lake Thunderbird, a 6,000-acre state park offering fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and camping. Details:

Objective: Reproduction Enterprises Inc. (REI) is seeking a Staff Veterinarian to oversee and to participate in application of the numerous services offered. REI has been involved in semen collection and processing since 1978 and has been a member of National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) for several years. REI has maintained (CSS) certification status with NAAB since 1982. Semen processing and freezing has expanded to not only include bovine but also caprine, equine, white tail deer and more recently canine. In 1980 REI began embryo transfer services in cattle. REI has operated as a certified facility for over 15 years with the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA). REI desires to expand their female reproductive services, to include many of the same species in which we are cryogenically preserving semen. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and responsibility to expand products and services. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the application of veterinary medicine in the area of assisted reproductive technologies.REI currently employees 8 Full-time employees and will employee 5-10 part-time students depending on the level of business activity. It is our plan to provide preceptors and summer vet student employment. Practice Area: REI’s clinic and in house facilities are located in Stillwater, Ok which is in the North Central part of the state. However due to the specialization of our services we serve an area within a 250 mi radius of Stillwater. This includes all of Oklahoma and parts of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas. Other Considerations: Stillwater is a community of about 46,000. A perfect size community with excellent public schools, a below average cost of living. Stillwater is excellent places to live, learn, work, invest and even retire. It is the location of Oklahoma State University Veterinary college and home of Oklahoma State University Cowboys for those college sports fans.

REI would like an individual with an extreme passion for the application of reproductive technologies. Individual will need to develop or possess excellent palpation and surgical skills. Associates with a small ruminant background and interest are highly encouraged. Dr. Gregor Morgan DVM (Consultant and member of board for REI) and Les Hutchens (President/CEO) have several years experience and would enjoy mentoring and equipping a new graduate. It would also be desirable for an associate who has a strong entrepreneurial interest for eventual ownership.
