Potential SVM Faculty Mentors
Word was recently received that a new Student Elective Research Scholarship
Program has been funded by the Merck-Merial Animal Health Research Program for
the Year 2003. This program, now in its fourth year, will make it possible for
students to support studies on innovative animal health research projects
through summer electives and clinical blocks within the curriculum. Projects
should arise from the student's own career interests and imagination on topics
that will: 1) advance animal health in new and emerging areas of veterinary
medicine and 2) enable students to explore potential pathways to a career in
animal health research.
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to develop a research
proposal that will add creative new ideas to the intellectual life of the school
and to our profession.
Program guidelines and application instructions are available in the Office of
the Dean and on the SVM Website.
