The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to the
training of veterinarians for the protection of animal and human health, to
maintaining an advanced teaching hospital for the treatment of pets, wildlife,
horses, and livestock, and to performing research on both animal and human disease
problems.
Because our mission is broad and our vision far reaching,
we rely greatly on the kindness of private donors. For instance, the
very survival of our raptor and wildlife rehabilitation unit depends on the
volunteer efforts of students and faculty and the donations of caring
individuals. Another example of charitable giving which is benefiting the School
is our campaign to build an equine intensive care unit to meet the special
demands for treating critically ill and injured horses. As a result of the
generosity of private donors we have collected more than 70 percent of the required
funds and are well on our
way to breaking ground for this new facility.
Throughout these “Giving A
Gift” web pages you will find a number of commendable causes dedicated to
helping students, providing better and more advanced facilities for treating
animals, and researching animal disease. Should you be contemplating a sizable
gift in any of these areas or would like help in choosing an area where your
gift would be most useful, I would welcome the opportunity to visit with you in
person or by telephone. You may contact me through Office of Institutional
Advancement at
225-578-9826.
We are excited about the future, and you can play a big
part in helping us maintain that enthusiasm and momentum as we strive to build an
outstanding school. Thank you.
