Hello,
My name is Jesse Martinez. I am the President of the
R.E.V.A. Spay and Neuter Non-Profit Mobile Clinic.
R.E.V.A. stands for Responsible, Ethical Volunteers for
Animals. It is named in memory of our founder and my
wife of 30 years, Reva A. Martinez. Our Mission is to
spay and neuter as many pets as possible in the Kern
River Valley. The clinic is for anybody that needs the
help to get their pets spayed or neutered, and to make
pets a privilege rather than an unwanted problem. I hope
this will help eliminate the abuse and abandonment of
animals that happens here in our valley. It is becoming
a big problem because residents cannot keep up with the
high costs of food, gasoline, vet bills, medical bills,
etc. This is where the R.E.V.A. Mobile Clinic comes to
aid because we are a low cost spay and neuter clinic.
We need a Veterinarian in the small California community
of Weldon, and in fact, the entire Kern River Valley. It
is located near the hidden and beautiful Kern River
alongside Lake Isabella. Nearby Kernville is the site of
Olympic rafting and recreational attractions year round.
The valley
consists of small, unincorporated communities as well as
major cattle and horse ranches and has only three
veterinarians, one of whom is mostly retired. The other
two are booked for weeks in advance.
The local hospital had a mobile facility which I bought
for a traveling clinic.
What is lacking is a veterinarian to staff the Mobile. I
am offering housing and income as the clinic grows. The
community support in the valley is enormous.
This area is in desperate need of another large/small
animal doctor.
The Kern River Valley is located about 60 miles east of
Bakersfield, in a most beautiful area near Sequoia
National Park, with Ridgecrest located about 40 minutes
East. Mammoth Ski Resort is about two hours North.
This is an opportunity for a newly graduated
veterinarian who wishes to start out in a rural area,
housing provided, immediate income and a good chance for
plenty of business.
