Welcome from the Office of Student & Academic Affairs

On behalf of everyone in the Student & Academic Affairs Office at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, I would like to welcome you to our admissions web site. I encourage you to carefully read through the wealth of information that we have made available to you through our web site. I would also advise you to visit the web site of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) at www.aavmc.org to learn even more about not only the LSU SVM but every other CVM. Take this opportunity to learn as much as you can about our DVM program, faculty, staff, and students.

Our new admissions web site contains all the information you'll need concerning the application and admissions procedures for the 2008 application cycle, including: course prerequisites, residency classifications, class statistics, frequently asked questions, dates & deadlines, and a step-by-step guide to the application process.

Please read through all of the available information, and I encourage you to visit the admissions site frequently for news and updates. If you are applying during the 2008 application cycle (for possible matriculation into the fall '09 semester), it is vitally important that you frequently visit the site, especially the Online Status Check System. This system will be available to you once you have submitted your VMCAS application and your application data has been received and processed by the LSU SVM.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments and suggestions you may have for improvements to the admissions web site. Of course, feel free to also contact me if you have any questions regarding the application process.

Once again, welcome to the admissions web site and thank you for your interest in the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

Sincerely,

Jared Granier, M.B.A.
