DVM Transfer Guidelines

FOR POSSIBLE ENTRANCE INTO THE FALL '10 SEMESTER, letters of intent will only be accepted if RECEIVED from January 1st, 2010 to March 1st, 2010. Letters received before January 1st or after March 1st will NOT be accepted. Guidelines for Students Considering Transfer into the DVM Curriculum:

The School of Veterinary Medicine will consider all transfer requests on a case-by-case basis subject to availability of space, the reason for requesting transfer, the quality of the applicant, and what the applicant would bring to the LSU program in terms of educational, cultural, ethnic, and geographical diversity. Transfer into the most appropriate semester of the curriculum will be considered based on how the curriculum of the school that the student is transferring from fits into our curricular template. In general, qualified Louisiana residents will be given preference. Transfer opportunities vary from year to year but are typically VERY limited if available at all.

Transfer from AVMA Accredited CVMs

Only students who are in good standing, have a GPA of 3.2 or better (or equivalent other grading scales), and are not on probation will be considered for transfer.
