Map/Directions to LSU SVM

As of July 31, 2007, the central part of the LSU campus is closed to public vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is part of the new Easy Streets campaign, which is designed to reduce the on-campus traffic congestion and facilitate pedestrian access to campus buildings. Click here for a map showing which streets are affected and which will still be accessible. Follow any of the streets outlined in green for alternate routes to LSU SVM. The three sets of directions below will get you from the interstate directly to the LSU SVM, avoiding the streets closed to outside traffic.

Exit I-10 at Dalrymple Drive (Exit 156B), follow Dalrymple south (go 1.2 miles) and turn left at Highland Road. Go 0.7 miles then turn right at Nicholson Dr. Extension. Go 0.7 miles then turn right at Nicholson Drive. Go approximately 0.1 miles then turn left at Skip Bertman Drive. The LSU SVM is approx. 0.5 miles down Skip Bertman Drive on the right-hand side of the street.

Exit I-10 at Acadian Thruway (Exit 157B), follow Acadian south from I-10 as it changes name to Stanford (1.5 miles) then turn right at Highland Road. Go 0.4 miles then turn left on Nicholson Dr. Extension. Go 0.7 miles then turn right at Nicholson Drive. Go approximately 0.1 miles then turn left at Skip Bertman Drive. The LSU SVM is approx. 0.5 miles down Skip Bertman Drive on the right-hand side of the street.

Exit I-10 at Nicholson Drive (Exit 155A), follow signs for LSU (go 69 ft) then turn right at Terrace Street (go 207 ft). Turn left at Nicholson Drive. Go 1.7 miles then turn right at Skip Bertman Drive. The LSU SVM is approx. 0.5 miles down Skip Bertman Drive on the right-hand side of the street.

Baton Rouge Airport (BTR) to LSU SVM - Turn left at Veterans Memorial Blvd. Turn right at Harding Blvd/LA-408 to enter Interstate I-110. Take the ramp onto I-110 Southbound and follow I-110 South (go approximately 1.2 miles). (This takes you past Exxon refinery. After a sweeping righthand turn, you will be aimed at the state capitol (tall "skyscraper"). Another sweeping lefthand turn will restore your southerly course.) Merge onto I-10 East heading torwards New Orleans (go 0.6 miles). (BE CAREFUL NOW - DO NOT EXIT on I-10 West. If you accidentally do, you will have no choice but to cross the Mississippi River and turn around on the other side, which is really confusing.) Exit I-10 at Dalrymple Drive (Exit 156B), follow Dalrymple south (go 1.2 miles) and turn left at Highland Road. Go 0.7 miles then turn right at Nicholson Dr. Extension. Go 0.7 miles then turn right at Nicholson Drive. Turn right at LA-30/Nicholson Dr (go approximately 0.1 miles). Turn left at Skip Bertman Drive. The LSU SVM is approx. 0.5 miles down Skip Bertman Drive on the right-hand side of the street.

New Orleans Airport (MSY) to LSU SVM - Head east on Airline Dr/US-61 toward Airport Access Rd (approximately 0.5 miles). Turn left toward Airport Access Rd (144 ft). Turn right at Airport Access Rd (1.6 miles). Take the ramp to Veterans Memorial Blvd (0.2 miles). Turn left at Veterans Memorial Blvd (go approximately 1.2 miles). Turn right at Loyola Dr (go 0.2 miles), then turn left to merge onto I-10 West (go 63.9 miles). Take exit 157B for Acadian Thwy (go 0.3 miles), then turn left at S Acadian Thruway (go 0.3 miles). Continue straight on Stanford Ave (go 1.3 miles) then straight on LSU Ave (go 0.3 miles). Note - Acadian Thwy becomes Stanford Ave which then becomes LSU Ave. Turn right at Highland Rd (go 0.4 miles). Slight left at Nicholson Dr Ext (go 0.7 miles). Turn right at LA-30/Nicholson Dr (go approximately 0.1 miles). Turn left at Skip Bertman Drive. The LSU SVM is approx. 0.5 miles down Skip Bertman Drive on the right-hand side of the street.
